today at the farwell's..

Brenna is becoming much more alert to her surroundings... playing with toys, watching Blake and giving mom and dad constant smiles. As you can see, her neck is getting strong!

Then there is Blake! He is one cool dude with Mom's sunglasses. New words for the week: sky, apple, airplane, blocks, tree, phone.

We are looking forward to a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Farwell this weekend. They will be arriving on Saturday and I'm sure we will have several pictures to share from our weekend together. We hope you all enjoy a long holiday weekend with your family and loved ones!

whee...

Blake got a slide the other day, but because of the rain outside it found a home in our living room for the night. Here is a video of the fun...

Family Update: Both kids had doctor's appointments yesterday, Brenna for her 2 month and Blake for his 18 month. I'm sure glad Nolan was able to go with me because between the two kids there were 7 shots... ouch!

Brenna weighs 11 pounds 7 ounces which is in the 75th percentile. She is a very good eater! She is smiling constantly and holding her head up so well. Blake weighs 25 pounds 4 ounces which is the 25th percentile. Definitely slowed down from his 95th percentile weights when he was younger!

He is learning new words constantly. His vocabulary has expanded to the following: mommy, daddy, doggie, banana, hot dog, yummy, sorry, thank you, Bo (Brenna), slide, outside, circle, star, rectangle, car, bike, purple, blue, black, hi, bye, uh oh, see ya, please, light, door, more, no, yes, book, cookie, juice, milk, Blake, night night, cheese, football, grandpa, grandma... I know I'm forgetting some but you get the picture, he's learning a lot these days!

After many attempts, I finally got a picture of Brenna's big smile!

purple

Blake has never been one to like wearing hats, until today that is. He found some hats in my closet this morning and has had fun with them. Dad will be proud that he is wearing his K-State purple!

Purple, or burple in Blake's language, is his favorite color lately. He loves his purple crayon and even colored his sister purple! Yes, that's right!! I walked into the room the other day to see purple crayon stripes drawn on Brenna's onesie. Poor girl.

dedication

We felt honored to have both Blake and Brenna dedicated at church this past Sunday. We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful church family full of friends who will help us along this path we call parenthood!

Blake had the whole congregation giggling as he announced his arrival into the sanctuary with a loud 'HI!!' and talked throughout the entire dedication, saying hi to Grandpa Glace who was sitting in the crowd and even answering NO to one of the dedication questions for the parents on the stage to which we were to answer 'we will.' As Nolan walked him out of the sanctuary to go back to the nursery, Blake continually said hi to everyone in the congregation which led Pastor Dan to announce that he thought Blake was going to become a preacher! He definitely loves to be in front of everyone- so we'll see if that is the path he decides to take! =)

Grandma and Grandpa Glace came to celebrate the dedication.

like father, like son

After Nolan and Blake went on a bike ride tonight, Nolan was excited to tell me about a plane he saw flying low while they were out and about. He informed me that it looked like an old WWII bomber plane, and that's exactly what it was! I had seen a story on the plane earlier in the day on the local news. There was a B-17 Flying Fortress plane from WWII at our small local airport for people to come and see or even take a ride in. (for the low price of $425 per person for 45 minutes!!) Needless to say, we got the kids packed up right away and were out the door to take a look at plane.

I have to tell you that Nolan has had an interest in planes since he was a kid, and still dreams of getting a pilots license someday. When he was a kid he played with model planes, drew planes, memorized names of every single plane.... when we were engaged he made me watch a movie he loved when he was little called 'Fast Jets.' =)

I have a feeling that this interest in planes is already instilled in Blake. He loved being out at the airport and seeing the big bomber take off. Everyone in the crowd heard him yelling, 'BYE BYE' as the plane taxied away. We stuck around to see some smaller planes take off as well. He loved it, and so did his daddy!

Brenna was just as excited to watch the planes.... ok, not really. She slept the whole time, not even bothered by the sound of the loud propellers starting up nearby.

Brenna is really starting to smile now, but unfortunately my camera is too slow to capture the moment. This is as close as I got today... just the tail end of a smile.

cousins

Yesterday was a very fun day at our house. All of the cousins on the Glace side came over! This is a picture of the 3 youngest. (Brenna 6 weeks, Boaz 5 months, Zach 4 months)

This picture was a little challenging to capture, but we did it! They sure had a good time playing together. (Brenna, Ellie, Zach, Hannah, Boaz, and Blake)

Brenna got her six week pictures taken yesterday, I wish I could post some on the blog because they turned out SO adorable! I may try to scan one to put it on for everyone to see. She is changing so much every day and starting to smile quite a bit- especially this morning, Blake and I had a good time trying to get as many smiles out of her as we could.

Farwell Family Update: Many of you may not know that our house is officially on the market! We haven't found our next house yet- but the one thing we know for sure is that we have out grown this house. Right now it is For Sale By Owner because we aren't in any rush so we though we might as well. We've had several phone calls already and have our first showing tomorrow, which is a little stressful. Trying to get a house ready to show with 2 children under the age of 2 is a little challenging! =)

We'll keep you posted, but in the meantime... if you know of anyone who may be looking for a nice little house in the Cedar Valley- send them our way!! (can't blame me for posting a brief sales pitch!)
