a beautiful day....

Yesterday was the most beautiful spring day we have had (there haven't been many!). Blake and I spent most of the day outside. We went on a walk, went to the park, and played in the backyard where Blake likes to play in the rocks.

It's raining today... so it's most likely a day stuck inside- but at least we had yesterday to enjoy.

I wish I would have taken my camera outside with us, but at least I thought to snap a couple on our goldfish snack break!

Blake is learning more and more everyday! His vocabulary has expanded to ball, uh-oh, momma, dada, nana (banana), baba (bottle), did it (i did it). He is really starting to love books which has been so fun for me. I ask him questions about things that are on the page and most of the time he can point to what I am asking about. He's getting so big!!!

snow in april....

Yes, that's right! It's been a long, long winter stuck inside... and last Saturday was no different as it snowed lightly all day long. Isn't April supposed to bring flowers and sunshine? Luckily the forecast is looking better- upper 60's this coming weekend and no more being stuck indoors for this family!!

Nolan thought that building a tent would help to pass the time while being inside. Both he and Blake had fun- although Blake wasn't quite sure how to walk through the tent without falling down... you'll see why in the video.

the simple joys....

Doesn't he look so grown up?! Today Blake and I went to the indoor kids play area at the mall. He LOVES it. There are all sorts of things for him to climb and slides to go down. I found myself sitting along the side of the play area thinking, "who is this little man running around and playing? and... why doesn't he need his mommy to help him?" It's such a strange feeling seeing that he can do things all by himself now- strange but very fun!

Why didn't I do this sooner? What fun can be had with a simple box!
Blake loved climbing in, going through and going over the diaper box this afternoon and is still enjoying it tonight. In fact, I can hear dad pounding on the box followed by Blake's laugh.... I wonder what adventures they are having up there?

Family Time

Nolan, Blake and I enjoyed spending Easter weekend at my parents house.

Blake enjoyed the constant Grandma and Grandpa attention and mom enjoyed some time to relax! (even got to sleep in on Saturday!)

We are seeing Blake's personality develop more and more every day and are finding ourselves laughing constantly. As you can see in this picture, Blake thinks this is the face you are supposed to make when your picture is being taken. Even before the flash starts- he is ready... eyes squinting.

He loves to make people laugh... just today Blake and I made a trip to Target where, as always, people love to wave and say hi to him. Today Blake's goal was to make everyone that said hi to him laugh. He growled like a tiger to one woman who said hi to him... mission accomplished- she laughed! He wrinkled his nose up and let out a loud 'fake' laugh to one older man who said hi to him and once again- mission accomplished. He began dancing and singing loudly (this was his song Dada Da DAAAAA Da Da Da) to get more laughs.

You are a funny little man Blake- we are sure thankful for your joy filled personality!

walking....

It's official... Blake is walking! It has been a fun week as Blake has gone from walking a few steps to walking all the way across the house to greet dad home from work. He loves the new things he is able to discover (and climb!) and mom is even busier than ever making sure he isn't getting into anything he's not supposed to.
Blake also has been busy this week with another new discovery- Lego's!! He got a bucket of duplo legos for Christmas from his Great Grandma and Grandpa Farwell and we decided this week that we should get them off the top shelf to play with. He's not quite able to build with them yet- but they still keep him busy as Mom builds and he takes them apart.

Here's a video from earlier this week... sorry for the crazy camera work!

Another BOY Cousin!!!

Well- it's official! The boy cousins now out number the girls 3-2 on the Glace side. My sister Emily had a beautiful baby boy today. Zachary was 9 lbs. 8 oz. and both he and mom are doing well.

Blake, Boaz and Zach will be quite the trio!

Blake and I spent last night and most of today at my sister's house. Blake played with his cousins Hannah and Ellie while Emily and Greg were at the hospital.
