Our sweet little Brenna is 8 months old already! Can you believe it?
Brenna is such a sweet and content little girl and we are so thankful for her and what she means to our family. She loves books and loves playing ball, she loves to dance and loves her bath, she loves her daddy and glows every time he walks into the room. She is such a little joy!

time indoors
Being stuck inside on cold winter days is wearing on Blake. He loves playing outside and is getting a little stir crazy as the Iowa winter rolls on. Here is what Blake has been doing with his time indoors.
Finger painting some birthday thank you notes.
Coloring and putting stickers on boxes as I was busy doing some packing.
And wearing himself out... at nap time he fell asleep reading his book.

i've been tagged
I was tagged by a friend to show my fourth picture in the fourth folder on our computer. Here it is.
It's a picture of Nolan clearing out a tree that had fallen from our neighbors yard right into our garden during a storm last summer.
Now, I have to tag 4 other people to show us their fourth picture in the fourth folder. Becky B, Stephanie F, Rachel F, and Annie F... consider yourselves tagged! =)

Blake's Birthday Celebration
Last night we had a great time celebrating Blake's Birthday with family at my sister Becky's house. Blake's cousin Boaz turns 1 today, so we were able to celebrate with him as well. Here are a bunch of pictures of the festivities... enjoy!
Blake's Wildcat cake- it was my first time making fondant, I think it turned out pretty cute!
Lighting the candles...
and blowing them out.
Blake still wasn't feeling quite up to par, so we don't have any good pictures of him digging into his birthday cake. But, cousin Boaz had no problems making a birthday mess!
Cousins Ellie and Hannah. Ellie enjoyed taking pictures with Grandma Glace's camera. I'm not sure if Grandma knew she was taking these pictures, so it will be interesting to see what Grandma thinks when she uploads her pictures from the night.
The boys playing with Boaz's new toy. Blake, Zach and Boaz.
Opening more presents.
Up bright and early this morning to play with his new toys.
Blake has had a great birthday so far and the festivities continue today... Grandma and Grandpa Farwell are coming to visit!

what a difference a day makes
Blake woke up this morning and was still feeling under the weather. He was content to lay on the couch and watch Diego all morning... very unlike him.
BUT... what a difference a day has made! I am happy to say that Blake's spunk is back. He has been playing, trying to make Brenna laugh, and even attempted to eat something this afternoon (he wanted chicken nuggets).
Brenna is not quite back to feeling 100% but she didn't get the bug as bad as Blake did. She is playing well and seems happy but not eating much yet and needing quite a bit of sleep.
Our little peanut, always happy- even when she is sick!

sickness
Nolan and I just commented the other day that we have been fortunate enough to have not experienced the stomach flu with either of our kids yet. Not so fortunate anymore- the stomach flu is here in full force.
Poor Blake and Brenna both have the flu, meaning many, many, many loads of laundry and very little sleep for everyone in the house. It breaks my heart that I can't do anything to help them feel better.

update
Well, I know it's been a while since I've had an actual update on what has been going on around our house. Truth is, SO MUCH has been going on and that is the reason for my lack of blogging as of late.
First things first, we sold our house! We are thrilled to have it sold, but are closing on March 17th... meaning we have about 6 weeks to find a house or find something until we do find our next house. We looked at 5 houses yesterday and one today but haven't found 'it' yet.
Since my last update I have also taught my first college class! I have a great group of students and have really enjoyed teaching. I do love being a stay at home mom, but it's nice to get out once a week to teach.
Blake and Brenna are doing great (although Blake is getting over another episode of croup). Blake will be turning 2 next week! I can hardly believe it. We are constantly amazed at how fast he picks things up. Right now we are learning lower case letters... he's mastered all uppercase and even recognizes several small words. He wanted to wear his dad's sweat shirt in this picture... he looks forward to Nolan getting home from work all day long. Throughout the day he says, 'Daddy at work in white car, be back this afternoon.'
Brenna is doing well. She is a great eater but still just a petite little thing. No signs of crawling yet which goes right along with her personality. She is so laid back and content just to sit and watch Blake running around the house. I will post some pictures of our little peanut soon! =)
